This "Dapper Dame" image brings gender-bending class and elegance to Craig Owens's Haunted by History photo shoots. This classic Hollywood-inspired photo taken at the Alexandria Hotel in downtown Los Angeles is a perfect homage to a more glamorous era. Owens actually shot this photo in "The Valentino Suite," one of the Alexandria's haunted areas.

Although the Alexandria Hotel is a well-known building and a historical landmark, its real history and ghost legends are either muddled, misleading or long neglected. My name is Craig Owens, a photographer/blogger for the popular Facebook Page "Bizarre Los Angeles" and the author of the book, "Haunted by History Vol. 1," separating the facts and legends of eight historic, haunted hotels in Southern California. I have always been in love with Old Hollywood. I love it for its glamour, its style, its mythology and its decadence, which always seems to be bubbling just below its surface.
