Description
The Isthmus at Santa Catalina Island around 1940. The strip of land had many different names before it officially became the village of Two Harbors. By 1940, it was sometimes called the Isthmus Movie Colony because of all the movie sets that existed in the area. In fact, the brown building in the center of the image was built for Mutiny on the Bounty in 1934 before it was adapted into a bar.
